Hey everyone! I'm on a tight budget of under $400 and I'm trying to build my first gaming PC, but I'm a bit stuck on how to allocate my funds. Should I go for a cheaper CPU, like the Ryzen 5 5500 for around $70, paired with a mid-range used GPU priced between $90-110? Or would it be better to invest in a better CPU, the Ryzen 5 5600 for about $120, and stick with a lower-end GPU in the $50-70 range? I'm considering things like future upgrades and overall performance, so I'd love to hear your thoughts! Also, I'm located in Richmond, CA, if that helps with any pricing advice.

I'd suggest going for the Ryzen 5 5600. I've had a solid experience with mine, and if you can pair it with something like a 5600XT GPU, you should be in great shape. Check out websites like Facebook Marketplace or AliExpress for deals if you're comfortable. You can definitely find good parts that perform well even at 1440p!
Thanks for the advice! I'll look into those options. It's good to hear from someone who’s been through the process.
