Will My CPU Still Work After Some Pins Got Bent?

I accidentally bent four pins on the outer edge of my CPU, but I managed to adjust them back into alignment using a mechanical pencil. Do you think it will still work, or is there a risk involved?

As long as the pins didn't break or bend too much, it should be fine! I've had similar experiences and as long as they line up in the socket, you should be good to go!

Haha, I love the trademark symbol on 'should'! Very comforting!

If they weren't damaged too badly, it should work. I've had a CPU where all outer pins were bent inward, I fixed them, and it worked like a charm! You're likely in the clear! 👍

As long as the pins are aligned and haven't snapped off, you should be all set!

Definitely worth trying! I straighten bent pins often since I build PCs, and they usually work fine after.

There's really only one way to find out! Give it a shot and see if it boots up. Fingers crossed!
