Hey everyone! I'm helping my dad find a dependable laptop for his day-to-day needs. He's been through a lot of Chromebooks lately, but they haven't lasted him long. He doesn't need anything fancy, just something that can easily access the internet. We're looking to keep the price under $1000 and would prefer to avoid Apple products. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Why steer clear of Apple products? The base model MacBook Air would fit the bill perfectly! If your dad's been using Chromebooks, software compatibility won't be an issue, so an M series MacBook could work great. But if Windows is a must, I’d recommend a ThinkPad X1 Carbon or one from the T or P series for solid performance.
I totally get that! Even as a fan of Apple, I wouldn’t want to make the switch hard for someone unfamiliar with it. Stick to what he's comfortable with!
