What are the best upgrades for running older games on my aging PC?

I bought my PC parts about four years ago, and it looks like they're finally starting to fail. I can't even run Oblivion anymore! I'm looking for the minimum upgrades I need to get it to run older games like New Vegas without constant lag and stuttering. Here are my current specs:

- Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk Max
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
- RAM: Not sure what I have
- Cooling: Cooler Master fan

Recently, my system froze and made a clicking noise, so I might be dealing with some serious issues. What should I prioritize upgrading to at least meet the minimum requirement for these games?

It sounds like your hard drive might be on its last legs, especially with that clicking noise. If you haven't already, check the temperatures of your components as overheating can also lead to performance issues. I'd recommend replacing the thermal paste on your CPU if you haven't done that in a while. That could help with overheating problems and boost performance!

Thanks, I actually have thermal paste on the way, so I'm hoping it helps! Everything just seems so outdated at this point.
