I'm currently running an AMD 5500 and I've spotted a solid deal on an AMD 9600X that comes with free DDR5 memory. I'm debating whether I should jump on it now or hold off for a while. What's the consensus on upgrading to AM5?

It's totally up to you! Personally, I've switched all four of my setups from AM4 to AM5, and I'm really happy with it. Plus, it was particularly satisfying upgrading my old Core 2 Quad to AM5!
The worth of the upgrade is pretty subjective. For me, it was absolutely worth it since I got a great deal on the 7700X and new RAM at Microcenter. If you can snag a good price like that, I’d say go for it! It's a solid value if that's what you're after.
My 9700X totally outperforms my old 5800X. Once you switch to AM5, you're likely not going back—it's a noticeable upgrade!
I don't think it's really worth it unless you're getting something with more cores. You could upgrade to a 5700X3D for a lower cost and still see good performance on your current setup.
Good point! I might consider that instead.
That's a huge upgrade! Must feel good to be on newer tech.
