Need Help Choosing a Replacement Battery for My HP Laptop

Hey everyone, I'm hoping for some guidance as I'm not exactly a tech expert. I've got an HP laptop (model 15-fc0093dx) that's been having some issues. It only turns on when it's plugged in, and I suspect it needs a new battery. I'm seeing a cheaper battery on Amazon for $23 that starts with HT03XL and another more expensive one for $60 that starts with EPYOBW and AE03XL. I honestly would prefer the cheaper option, but I'm not sure if it would be compatible with my laptop. I'm nervous about opening the back of the laptop to check the battery model, especially since Best Buy won't honor the warranty anymore since it's just over a year old. If there's anyone knowledgeable about this stuff, I'd really appreciate your help in finding a reliable and affordable battery that I can buy. Thanks in advance!

The best move would be to open the laptop and see what battery model it currently has. I know it can be intimidating, but it's the best way to ensure compatibility. Just be cautious and if you're unsure, heading to a repair shop might be a safe bet. Also, be aware that cheaper third-party batteries can sometimes be hit or miss in terms of quality.

I get that opening it up is scary, but won't the model number help? Can we just find it online? I thought that's how this works.

Sure, if you can find the model number, that could work. Just remember, sometimes it’s easier to physically see it for exact matches.

Honestly, I think the cheaper battery could work fine for you, but just keep in mind that sometimes lower-priced options don’t last as long. If you’re still worried, it might be best to look at repair guides before making a decision. Either way, good luck!

Hey, I found that cheap battery link again and it doesn't specifically list your model. Should I be worried about that?

It is a bit concerning, but as long as the battery type matches, it should be fine. Just double-check all specs!
