Help! My PC Keeps Failing to Boot After Attempting a Factory Reset

I think I might have picked up a virus while installing some files on my new computer. Now, when I try to factory reset Windows, I just get stuck on a bluescreen. I can't interact with the boot menu either, and I'm sure everything is plugged in correctly. My PC was working fine just last night with everything installed. What can I do to fix this?

First, getting access to any dump files from the blue screen can help us diagnose what's going wrong. If you can somehow boot into Windows or Safe Mode, check the folder C:WindowsMinidump for any crash logs. If you find some, zip them up and upload to a file sharing site like catbox.moe or mediafire.com. The more dump files you have, the better the diagnosis will be! If you don't see any, you might want to change the settings to allow for Small Memory Dumps, which can give us more information on crashes. Check out the guide on how to do that if you need help!

It sounds frustrating! Just to clarify, could you try rebooting and see if tapping the right key doesn’t get you into the BIOS or boot menu? Idk how your motherboard behaves, but sometimes those boot options can be tricky. If you can boot from USB tomorrow, keep that as a backup plan too!

What exactly were you trying to install? Was it something specific like software? Also, have you tried booting from a USB drive? When you attempt to boot, check for any indicators or sounds that your motherboard might be giving you because those can be clues. If you can't get to the BIOS at all, that's definitely a concern.
