How to Get Claude to Wait for My Go Command?

Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble getting Claude to respect my commands. When I'm trying to implement a feature for my app and I give him context, I specifically tell him to wait for my 'GO' before he starts coding. However, halfway through our chat, he often ignores that and jumps straight into coding.I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue and what strategies you use to keep Claude in check? Any advice would be great!

I jokingly tell him he might face 'jail time' if he starts coding without my decision first. That seems to keep him in line!

Whenever he starts coding too early, I just click 'stop' and express my frustration a little. It really gets his attention.

The key is to make it clear right from your first prompt that it's a discussion before any coding happens. I find that really helps! It's annoying though, I get it.

I've found that if I clearly instruct Claude to give me 'suggestions' without coding, he tends to stick to that. It's been working smoothly for me!

I've taken a light-hearted approach: I tell him that if he codes before I ask, there are no cookies for him! Surprisingly, it seems to work—maybe he just really likes cookies!
