Struggling to Install Windows on a New SSD

Hey everyone, I had an SSD that had Windows on it, but it fried on me. Now, I'm trying to install Windows on another SSD using a USB drive, but I keep getting stuck in a loop. Every time I try to go through the installation process, I just end up back at the Windows download screen or, if I don't have the USB plugged in, the BIOS menu. I've checked all the boot settings and made sure my new SSD is set as the primary boot device, plus I've unplugged the old SSD. I'm really not sure what else to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like you're hitting a boot issue. When you see that black screen saying 'reboot and select proper boot device', it usually means the system can't find the OS on the SSD. I recommend reformatting the USB drive and remaking the installation media. Also, if you have any Ethernet connection, try disconnecting that during the installation; sometimes it helps prevent conflicts.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try reformatting the USB.

What exactly do you mean by 'Windows download screen'? Are you seeing any specific prompts or error messages? Let me know, I might be able to help you better!
