Why is my M.2 NVME SSD so slow?

I just put together a new PC and installed a 2TB MSI Spatium M482 NVME SSD, but I'm seeing speeds around 100 MB/s, which feels more like what I'd expect from an HDD. I've checked the temperature and it hovers around 40°C even under load, so I don't think heat is the issue. Anyone have any ideas what might be going wrong?

You might want to check that the SSD is properly connected and that your motherboard supports the speeds you're expecting. Some motherboards have limitations or require specific settings to be adjusted in BIOS to fully utilize the NVME drive's speed.

How are you measuring those speeds? Sometimes tools can give misleading results or might not be measuring correctly. Are you using Task Manager, HWiNFO, or something else? That could explain the odd numbers you're seeing.
