When Can We Expect 9070 XT Prices to Drop After the 9060 Announcement?

So I'm really thinking about building my new PC with a 9070 XT, but I've noticed that prices have been slowly decreasing and are currently hovering around 103% of the MSRP in my area. With the 9060 series set to launch on June 5th, I'm wondering if there's a chance the prices for the 9070 XT could drop more significantly, or should I just go ahead and grab one now? I don't want to wait forever, but I'm hoping to save a bit more if possible.

Honestly, I doubt you’ll see any price drops either. If it’s already close to MSRP, you might have hit the best price you’ll see for now. I mean, I've spotted a PowerColor Reaper for $830, which is pretty close to the $800 MSRP for the 9070 XT. That's tempting!

I don’t think the 9060 XT will affect the pricing of the 9070 XT. If anything, people looking for cheaper options might shift their focus, but those wanting a high-end card like the 9070 XT usually wouldn’t consider it anyway. So, it might not lead to any significant price drops.

From what I see, the prices probably won’t drop much right away. The 9060 would be in a different price range than the 9070 XT, so there’s not really a reason for AMD to lower those prices. The earliest you might see significant discounts is really when there’s more stock available, which could be about a year from now.

The prices for the 9070 XT are likely to stay up unless demand goes down. I wouldn’t hold my breath, though—AMD can be pretty unpredictable when it comes to pricing. I’ve basically given up on waiting while my old PC keeps acting up, haha! Just make sure to grab one before your current setup gives out completely.

Just to clarify, if you’re seeing prices at 103% over MSRP, that really just means they’re about 3% over what they should be, right? I don’t think the announcement alone will make AMD lower their prices. You might have to wait and see if NVIDIA drops their prices first.
