Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for the best IT asset management software for my company. We're a mid-sized organization with around 300 employees across four offices in the same city, and we have over 1000 assets to keep track of, mostly consisting of laptops, workstations, printers, and some mobile hardware.
Until now, we've relied on spreadsheets, which, while they work for critical items, often lead to errors and forgotten assets since they aren't updated consistently. I'm looking for a system that minimizes manual work after setup, integrates with our MDM (we use Intune), has a clean interface for helpdesk and ops, is scalable for future growth, and fits within a reasonable budget without hidden fees. I've considered Snipe-IT and AssetTiger, and I'm currently exploring BlueTally, but I'd love to hear your recommendations for tools that fit my needs. Any insights or pointers would be really helpful!

You might want to try AssetPanda. It directly integrates with systems like JAMF and Intune, which makes it pretty "set and forget". It's not perfect, but for tracking major assets, it works well with minimal daily upkeep. Just set it up, and you should be good to go!
If you're willing to dig a little deeper, LanSweeper is another solid option but they've made their pricing a bit steep. I think they only cater to larger setups. Still, it’s worth mentioning in case you expand.
Check out Bluetally as well. I’ve heard great things about its versatility and the fact that it syncs with Intune, making it easier to manage your assets without excessive admin work. It has a clean interface too, which should help with handoffs to your helpdesk team!
If you're after minimal effort, look into AssetSonar. It automates a lot, integrates well with Intune, JAMF, and even G Suite. It automatically creates asset records on deployment, syncs with your employee directory, and the reporting features are top-notch. Pricing is somewhat predictable, which is always a plus!
Snipe-IT is a solid choice for you! It's free, flexible, and great for smaller setups. Just keep in mind that it does require some upkeep and doesn't have automation out of the box, so you'll need to manage MDM integration manually or write some scripts for it. But if you'd like to save money and are okay with a bit of tinkering, it's definitely worth considering!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out Snipe-IT and see if I can make the integrations work!
How’s the user interface on AssetPanda? Once it's in place, how much do you need to interact with it daily?
