What GPU should I choose to replace my dead 3080?

I'm looking to buy a new GPU since my RTX 3080 has unfortunately died. I'm considering the AMD 7900 XTX and the Radeon 7900 XT. The 7900 XT is cheaper by about $100-200, but price isn't my main concern. I want a GPU that will last me a while without needing an upgrade. I know the 7900 XT has superior AI capabilities, while the 7900 XTX offers more VRAM and raw power. I primarily game at 2K resolution with titles like Stalker, Rust, Oblivion, and Doom. Which one would be the better choice for long-term use?

I would lean towards the 7900 XT for long-term use, especially with the AI enhancements. If your main focus is future-proofing, having better AI performance could really be beneficial as games develop.

That's a fair point, but remember that you'll gain better performance overall with the 7900 XTX in raw gaming power, which can also help with longevity by delivering better frame rates in new titles.

Before you decide, are you certain your GPU is completely dead? Sometimes software or power issues can cause problems that look like GPU failure. But if you're confident it's toast, the 7900 XTX might be the better option since it offers more VRAM and better raw performance, which could help with those demanding games.

I did take it to a shop, and they confirmed the GPU isn’t working. They tested it in another setup and it powered on but wouldn’t display anything. I also tried another GPU at home, and that had troubleshooting issues too. So I’m pretty sure I need a replacement.
