A few years ago, I was stuck in a tech-limited environment and ended up buying a Brother WP530CJ Desktop Publisher, which saved files in a DOS-compatible WPT format. I wrote a lot of material on it, including game rules and novel manuscripts, but my supply of ink cartridges ran out, and the machine is no longer operational. I've stored my old disks but when I try to access them, the content is unreadable. I'm looking for help to convert these WPT files into a modern format that I can use again. Has anyone found a reliable way to do this?

If your old machine still works, why not convert everything to WordPerfect format? I’ve heard that MS Word can open those directly. Just need to get that machine repaired!
Have you tried using OpenOffice? It could possibly handle those WPT files. If that doesn’t work, a deeper search might turn up some specialized conversion software.
So are you looking to convert those Word Perfect files to something more modern? You could try uploading one to Google Drive and see if it cleans it up better than what you've shown us.
You could open the files in LibreOffice and then save them in a format that works for you. But I understand you've had issues with that since the files show as corrupt?
Yeah, unfortunately, LibreOffice says the files are corrupt, although I can open them in Notepad. It's a tough situation.
You might have luck just Googling for a WPT converter. There are quite a few options available online, so it could be worth checking them out!
I mentioned in my post that I'd need to get it fixed first. One repair guy quoted $100 just to look at it, which is a tough sell for me right now.
