What’s the Best AI Tool for Coding? DeepSeek or Sonnet?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to coding and have never written a line of code. I've made a few apps with DeepSeek but it's been a struggle. I've heard a lot about Sonnet being one of the best AI tools for coding, but I want to know if that's true. Sonnet costs about $20 a month, but I'm curious about how many messages I can send each month. Would that be enough for my app development needs? Should I stick with DeepSeek or switch to Sonnet?

Definitely go for Claude Sonnet 3.7! But just a heads up, Sonnet 4 is out now if you're looking for the latest. The upgrade could be worth it for better features!

After testing a few options, I found Sonnet 3.7 (and now making the switch to Sonnet 4) great for regular coding tasks. DeepSeek does well for more complex projects. If managing different AIs feels like a hassle, consider using a platform like expanse.com to switch easily between them. Plus, you can set up roles for specific coding tasks!

You might want to check out Claude Code, which has some useful tools if you're on a budget. You can use it with its desktop version for code writing and refactoring, and it works with the $20 plan. It’s quite handy for someone just starting out!

Can it work with a local server setup?
