Best Components for My First Gaming PC Build

I'm putting together my very first gaming PC and aiming for 1440p gaming at 60 fps or more, especially for titles like Helldivers 2. I've done a bit of research and created my PCPartPicker list, but I'd really appreciate any friendly advice. Design isn't my priority; I'm looking for great value components. Since I'm currently a student, I'll be upgrading in a couple of years once I have a steady income. Which parts should I invest a bit more in now to future-proof my build?

Also, I found some RAM on Amazon that's not on my PCPartPicker list: Patriot Viper Xtreme 5 DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s CL30 UDIMM. Here are my specific questions:

1. Is it worth enhancing my power supply to the MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 for £50, considering both current and future needs?
2. Am I missing any red flags with my build or do you have any general recommendations?

Your build looks great! Just a tip: consider upgrading to a 750W power supply instead of sticking with the 650W. It's a good way to future-proof your setup a bit more.

Thanks for the recommendation! 🙂

About your power supply question—it's really about how often you plan to upgrade your GPU. If you're not upgrading for a long time, an oversized PSU might not be necessary.

As for your other components, a tiny point: the TR PS120 cooler is slightly better and still at a similar price! It's worth considering.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out that cooler instead! 🙂

1. While your PSU works for this build, it will limit your options for more powerful GPUs in the future. If you might go for something high-end like a 5070 Ti later, an 850W PSU would be a smart choice.

2. Regarding the B580, it's decent but has inconsistencies in performance, particularly with older games. I'd suggest looking at an AMD or Nvidia card around the same price for potentially better performance.

Thanks for the insight! The B580 is currently at £250, and I've noticed a 5060 for £275. I think the Nvidia cards may do slightly better but with less VRAM. Since I don't play a lot of old games, is that VRAM trade-off worth considering? I'm leaning toward the 5060 right now since the prices are close. I saw the 5060 Ti 16GB for £390, though, which is a bit steep.
