Why Are My Games Crashing and Why Is My Screen Flickering?

I'm experiencing some serious issues with my gaming setup. Games like Battlefront 2 are almost unplayable due to constant crashes and bad screen tearing. I even see a white tile on my screen while playing! It goes black and then crashes when I try to tab out. I've also had problems with Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered and Black Ops 6 crashing randomly. I'm currently using an MSI PRO B760M-P motherboard but switched to a different one (Asus Prime Z690-P) and had issues displaying with my Asus Prime 5070 GPU. I ended up using a 3060 instead, but Battlefront 2 still shows problems, just not as bad. I've also changed my CPU because I heard the Intel i7 14700k could be causing issues. If this might be a PSU problem, could someone recommend a good one? My setup includes:

- GPU: Asus Prime 5070
- CPU: Intel i7 14700k
- Motherboard: Asus Prime Z690-P
- RAM: Corsair 2x16 DDR5 4800
- PSU: Thermaltake GF1 850W 80+ Gold
- Storage: Western Digital Black 1TB m.2 + 500GB m.2 + 500GB 2.5"

It’s probably not the PSU. Have you checked if your BIOS is up to date? Sometimes, issues with the i7 14700k can cause problems. Also, have you tried using DDU to uninstall and then reinstall the latest Nvidia drivers? If that doesn’t work, you might consider rolling back to an older driver version. Have you also deleted and reinstalled the affected games? Let us know how it goes!

It does seem unlikely that all your games would have corrupted files. Updating the BIOS and drivers is a good start, but considering you've swapped out GPUs and CPUs, it sounds more like a motherboard issue or possibly RAM instability.

Yeah, I agree. If both motherboards are updated and you're still facing issues, it might not just be related to the drivers.

I’d recommend running some stress tests and monitoring your temps. Try Cinebench and 3D Mark, using HWMonitor to keep an eye on throttling and temperatures. Also, move your GPU to another PCIe port if you can, it might be a bad port causing your display issues.

Definitely do that! Uninstall any drives that aren’t your boot drive and test with just one RAM stick to see if that helps.

Lol, I hope your soul makes it through this! But seriously, if you’ve had all these issues with different GPUs, you might need to look closer at that motherboard.
