Hey everyone! I'm about to embark on my first PC build and I've done quite a bit of research to put together a list of components. I'm working with a budget of around $3000 AU, and I want to ensure everything is compatible. My main uses for the PC will be family video editing, streaming TV/movies, and occasionally playing some strategy games like Civ 5/6, Xcom, and Skyrim. I'm not in a rush to buy everything, so any tips or advice would really be appreciated. Here's what I'm thinking for my build:
- **Case:** Antec P1 FT Silent E-ATX/ATX - $167
- **Motherboard:** Asus TUF Gaming B850 Plus WiFi AM5 ATX - $449
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9700X - $545
- **GPU:** Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT GAMING OC 16G - $789
- **SSD 1 (C Drive):** Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2 PCIe SSD - $249
- **SSD 2 (Storage):** KLEVV 2TB CRAS C910 PCIe NVMe SSD - $159
- **RAM:** PATRIOT MEMORY VIPER VENOM DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 64GB (32GBx2) - $289
- **PSU:** SilverStone DA850R-GMA 850W Power Supply - $135
- **Cooler:** MSI MAG CORELIQUID A13 360 - $109
- **Monitor:** MSI MAG 275QF 27inch 180Hz QHD - $259
- **Thermal Paste:** Polartherm X10 Thermal Paste - $8
- **Firewire Card:** PCIe x1 3 Ports 1394A - $15
**Total: $3173 AU**

You might want to check out this alternative build I found that fits a similar price range: [PCPartPicker Build](https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/8kkMgn). It has a powerful CPU with a great thermals cooler and could save you some cash while still being compatible with your needs. The total cost is slightly higher, but it includes excellent components like the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Plus, it has a great monitor included in the build!
Hey! It looks like you've done a solid job putting your build together. However, you might want to reconsider the SSDs; you really don't need that fast of one for your use case. Something like the Samsung 990 Evo or Sn850x should be quite sufficient and might save you some bucks. Also, if you're open to used parts, you could get a decent deal on your GPU. Just keep an eye out for the new 9060XT, too, if you can wait! You could also think about swapping out the cooler for a quality air cooler to save some cash.
Thanks for the tips! Just swapped the Crucial to the Samsung 990 EVO Plus and saved $126. Appreciate the help!
Glad to hear! It's always great to save some money. Keep us posted on your progress!
This looks awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps to see different options.
