My friend's brand new PC build isn't booting at all; the only signs of life are the RGB lights on the fans. When pressing the power button or shorting the pins, nothing happens—the PSU fan doesn't even spin. We've tried removing components one by one and testing just the motherboard and CPU, but it still doesn't post. We did check the PSU in another system, and it worked fine. He was actually due for a PSU upgrade, so he's ordered a new one that we'll test as soon as it arrives. I'll keep this updated with any results. Here's the spec list: Ryzen 5 5500, Asus Prime A520M-A II, Radeon RX 6600, 16GB XPG DDR4 RAM, Corsair CX430 PSU, and some generic case and fans. Also, the motherboard was manufactured in February 2025, so I'm hoping it has the latest BIOS.

You might want to check for beep codes! There's a 4-pin speaker header on the motherboard designed to deliver post error codes. If you can find a little speaker and plug it in, it could give you clues as to what's wrong.
Sounds like a BIOS issue! Did you purchase the motherboard from a reliable retailer? Sometimes, the BIOS needs updating before it will boot. Just a thought!
Yep, he got it from one of the largest retailers in Brazil, and it was made in February this year, so it should be fine.
He's on the lookout for one at home! I'll update here if he finds it.
