Hey everyone! I'm building a PC for my brother, and I'm running into a strange problem. During a test boot outside the case, the motherboard seemed to get power since the GPU lights up and the CPU fan is spinning. However, there are no LEDs lighting up on the motherboard, and it won't boot or show any signs of life beyond power. This is the same motherboard I used in a previous build, where it usually indicates any issues through its LED signals. I'm at a loss—what are some easy troubleshooting steps I can try? Is it possible this isn't a motherboard issue at all? I'm tempted to just return it, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your motherboard thinks everything is good, which suggests a problem with the display. Have you double-checked the front panel connectors and the display cable? Sometimes reseating the GPU can help too. If that still doesn’t work, try plugging the display cable directly into the motherboard to see if it gets a signal that way.
You might be dealing with a faulty motherboard. It's possible that the power cable to the motherboard is not connected properly, while the CPU and GPU are getting their own power sources. That could explain why those parts work but the board doesn’t show any lights.
