I was working on my laptop without it being connected to a power source and while it was turned off. I was tightening some screws when I noticed smoke coming out of it for a few seconds. Now the laptop won't turn on at all. I opened the back and checked, but none of the wires look burnt. I could really use some advice on what to do next.

It sounds like you may have accidentally used the wrong screws and might have drilled into the lithium battery, which is a serious fire risk. It's best to avoid doing that in the future!
At this point, you might want to try removing the battery and see if it powers up without it. Laptops usually have software-based power switches, so even when off, there's still some power in the system. But be careful because if you damaged any components, you might need professional help!
I noticed the keyboard lights are turning on, but the display won’t work. Any tips on fixing that?
