Why does my screen go black when playing Roblox?

I've been having this frustrating problem where my screen goes black while I'm playing Roblox. I know it sounds odd, but it's not like my computer is some low-end machine; it runs games like GTA V smoothly at high FPS. But for some reason, Roblox and a few other games make my screen cut out entirely, and the only way to get it back is to restart my PC. This black screen issue seems to come and go – it can disappear for weeks and then return out of nowhere, which is super annoying. I suspect it might be a resolution issue because I noticed in my Nvidia app that Roblox is running at 1632x1200, while my Windows resolution is set to 1920x1200. I haven't noticed any other problems with my GPU, but I'm at a loss for how to fix this. Here are my specs: GTX 960, Intel i5 6500, 1 SSD, 2 HDDs (with Roblox installed on the SSD), and 8GB of RAM. Am I looking at needing to upgrade my GPU, or is there a potential fix for this?

Have you tried changing the in-game resolution to 1080p? It seems like Roblox might be attempting to run at a resolution that your monitor doesn’t support, which can definitely lead to those black screens. That’s the first thing I’d check out!

The resolution issue is weird because sometimes the Nvidia app says it's at 1632x1200, and other times it shows 1920x1200. I feel like it’s just acting up on its own and I can’t really change it.

It sounds like you’ve tried a lot already! Have you also considered updating your GPU drivers or using different HDMI ports? Sometimes a faulty connection can cause these weird display issues. You could also try running the game in windowed mode to see if that helps.

Yeah, I’ve updated my GPU drivers and even replaced the HDMI cable. I’ve tried different power settings, but nothing seems to work consistently.
