Looking for Overkill Parts for My First PC Build

Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that I'm building my first PC and I'm ready to go all out on the parts! I just got my hands on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition and I'm planning to use an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D as my processor. I'm looking for additional parts to complement these—I'm thinking of a mid-tower case. Cost isn't a concern, so I want to hear your crazy suggestions for the rest of my build. Thanks!

Honestly, with the 9800X3D and 5080, you don't need to go too crazy on the other components. A fast M.2 drive is good enough; most of your performance will come from the CPU and GPU. I'd suggest getting a reliable 850W PSU and a case that has good airflow. For the motherboard, just find the cheapest one that fits your needs, like ATX size and M.2 slots. And don't skimp on your monitor—go for a quality OLED between $600 to $1000 instead of overspending elsewhere!

Thanks for your insight! I've been debating whether to go for an 850W vs. a 1000W power supply. Could you share why you prefer the 850W? I'm definitely planning to get a 240 Hz 1440p OLED monitor.

I wouldn't recommend going for a small form factor case for your first build. What will you mainly use the PC for? Just curious!

Mainly for gaming, and I'm looking to future-proof it as much as possible.
