I'm trying to decide between DDR5-6000 and DDR5-6400 memory for my X870A motherboard paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The prices are pretty similar, so is it worth going for the 6400MHz option over the 6000MHz?

Honestly, I didn't even know DDR5 could go above 6000MHz! If you can get 6400MHz, go for it. Even if it’s just a slight bump in FPS, it's still a win—just not if you're aiming for something super professional.
True, but keep in mind that anything above 6000MHz can be tricky to run stably, so DDR5-6000 with CL30 is often recommended for the best stability.
It really depends on the CAS latency. For example, DDR5-6000 with a lower CL (like 30) tends to perform quite well. Plus, it's often more stable without needing manual adjustments.
Yeah, but for gaming specifically, the CAS latency isn't as much of a concern as you might think.
Exactly, 6000 MT/s is the standard. It just feels weird when people try to push for the max frequency without knowing the basics.
