I've got a pretty solid setup with an i5 12400F, RX 7700XT, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM running on a 1TB M.2 SSD, all while playing on a 1080P 165Hz monitor. Even though I can run other demanding games like Witcher 3 on ultra settings with no issues (90 FPS capped) and get steady 200 FPS in Valorant, I'm experiencing some frustrating frame drops in League of Legends. During mid-game, my FPS can drop from 200 to around 140 or even down to 100. I know League isn't the best optimised game out there, but I'm wondering if my CPU is the problem—does it lack the single-core performance needed to keep up with League? I've tried a few things already: disabled full-screen optimizations, capped the FPS to 200, and enabled Vsync, but I'm still seeing drops, especially as the game progresses.

That doesn't seem right at all! A friend of mine plays League just fine with an R5 5500 and a 1660 Super. You might want to check your AMD control panel or in-game settings for any irregularities. Also, you could try turning off Vsync since it might be causing some issues with FPS capping. It seems a bit odd, but worth experimenting with!
Turning off Vsync did nothing for me; it just capped the FPS at 165, but I still experienced drops to 140-100 during longer sessions.
