I'm on the hunt for a minimalistic Debian-based Linux distribution. As a newcomer to the world of Linux, I've gone through countless options but haven't found one that ticks all my boxes. Here's what I'm specifically looking for:

- It must be based on Debian.
- I need it to be lightweight.
- I don't want anything extra included, like a desktop environment—just the essentials.
- It should allow for an offline installation.
- UEFI support is a must.

That's pretty much it! I'm hoping to find something that suits my needs since I often run distros in a virtual machine alongside my existing setup with Mint.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you could look into Gentoo. It requires more setup, but you get complete control over the system.

How about OpenSUSE MicroOS? It’s worth checking out if you’re looking for a minimal experience without a lot of extras.

Have you heard of Bodhi Linux 7.0 HWE? It's designed to be lightweight and minimal, making it a good fit for what you need.

You could try Ubuntu Server. It’s extremely basic, lacking in pre-installed tools, which means you can add only what you need. Just remember it’s also Debian-based, so it might work for you!

Why not just go with Debian itself? You can customize the installation to exclude any desktop environments, so you’ll end up with a bare-bones setup that fits your requirements perfectly.
