Hey everyone, I'm in a real bind here. My PC hasn't been able to connect to the internet for about a year now. I'm talking total blackout – no Wi-Fi and no LAN connection. All my other devices are getting online just fine, but my computer is stuck. Last time this happened, I fixed it by changing the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8, but that's not working this time. Right now, my LAN connection says 'Unidentified network.' I've done a ton of searching and trying different fixes suggested online, but I can't find anything that works. I really need a tech wizard to help me out!

Did you try disabling and then re-enabling your Ethernet connection? You can do this by right-clicking the network icon in your taskbar, going to 'Open Network & Internet settings,' selecting 'Change adapter options,' right-clicking the Ethernet connection, and choosing 'Disable' followed by 'Enable.'
First things first, try a network reset on your PC. Go into the settings and look for the network reset option. After you click it, your PC will restart automatically in about 5 minutes without any prompts. Also, check your router settings to ensure your PC isn't accidentally blocked from the internet.
I already did the network reset, and there have been no changes to the router in years.
Have you tried moving your PC closer to the modem and see if it can connect wirelessly?
My Wi-Fi isn't seeing any networks at all, unfortunately.
You might want to uninstall your Ethernet adapter from Device Manager. After that, head to Windows Update and see if any driver updates are available. If nothing shows, check for any additional updates that could help.
I uninstalled it, but I can't check for updates since there's no internet connection. Just restarted the PC again after trying a bunch of things but still nothing.
Make sure your PC is set to DHCP. If that doesn't help, try uninstalling and reinstalling your Ethernet drivers. You could also test if the Wi-Fi works by connecting to a mobile hotspot, if you have any connectivity at all. Also, check if your IP is possibly blocked by your router. In Command Prompt, try running `ipconfig /release` followed by `ipconfig /renew` to refresh your connection.
Shouldn't you also try flushing your DNS?
DHCP is set. I've already reinstalled the drivers, and my Wi-Fi isn't detecting any networks right now.
I tried that, but still no luck.
