Which GPU Should I Choose in 2025: RTX 3080 10GB or RX 6900XT 16GB?

Hey everyone, I'm in the process of building a budget-friendly gaming PC using some second-hand parts. My main goal is to achieve full HD gaming at around 80fps in AAA games, and I'm a bit interested in ray tracing as well. Here's what I'm looking at: the RTX 3080 with 10GB of VRAM is priced at around $350, while the RX 6900XT with 16GB is available for about $385 (though it's in slightly worse condition). My CPU will be a used Ryzen 5 7600X, and the 12GB version of the 3080 is just out of my price range. Given these options, which GPU do you think is the better buy?

If you're thinking ahead, I'd actually hold off and see if you can grab a 9060 XT 16GB when it launches. That might give you even better performance and longevity for your setup.

You know what, that actually makes a lot of sense.

Honestly, at this point, I'd consider the 6900XT just because of the extra VRAM. Even if the 10GB sounds decent now, by 2025, you might find it limiting for future games, especially with ray tracing involved. It could be worth the slight extra cost, plus you get more memory for future-proofing your system.
