I'm wondering if it's possible for my wired Razer Kraken headset to carry malware after using it with a potentially infected PC. I've heard that wired headphones generally don't transmit viruses, but I just want to ensure I'm safe before plugging them into my new computer.

In theory, yes, a wired headset could potentially carry malware, but the chances are extremely low. Headsets aren't typically designed to store or transfer malware like a USB device would.

Yeah, it sounds pretty unlikely. Most malware is aimed at software, not hardware like headphones.

It's very unlikely for the headset itself to be infected, but there was a case a while back where Razer software was flagged as malware by antivirus programs. So, the software that gets installed alongside your headset could be of concern.
