Hi everyone! I bought a 40" Kogan TV back in July 2022, and recently it stopped connecting to the internet. While it connects to my Wi-Fi network, it just won't access the internet, which I thought were the same thing (I'm not very tech-savvy!). I reached out to Kogan Support, and they provided me with some troubleshooting steps, including updating the firmware, but nothing worked. My Wi-Fi is from Starlink, and interestingly, my brother has the same model TV connected to the same Wi-Fi without issues. After explaining this to support, they told me that my TV might have developed a fault and couldn't help any further. Is this a normal response? I've read that some people find Kogan to be unreliable, but I bought my TV back when I didn't have that info. I'm in Australia and wondering if this issue might be covered under the ACCC Consumer Rights and Guarantees. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Check if your modem has band steering enabled. Some cheaper TVs struggle with 5GHz signals, and if your router is steering it there, it won’t connect. Turning off band steering could help force your TV to connect to the 2.4GHz band instead.
Have you tried doing a factory reset on the TV? Also, see if connecting your phone's hotspot makes a difference. If that doesn't help, you might be looking at a hardware issue. I usually use a Roku or Fire Stick instead of built-in software—it’s a much smoother experience!
You might want to consider getting a Roku or an Amazon Fire Stick. I had similar issues with my TV's Wi-Fi stopping, and those devices made everything super easy and reliable!
Thanks, I’ll definitely look into that!
Try restarting your Wi-Fi router and resetting the TV. Sometimes, a particular device acts up and won’t connect, even when the others do. It could just be a temporary glitch!
Have you tried manually setting the DNS on your TV to something like Google DNS? It might help resolve connectivity issues.
I’ve done the factory reset and unplugging, and the phone hotspot didn't work either. I’ll definitely check out the Fire Stick, thanks for the suggestion!
