How can I bypass desktop restrictions for lecture software?

I recently bought some educational classes that can only be accessed through laptops. Unfortunately, the software detects my desktop as an external display, making it impossible to watch the lectures. The terms and conditions are pretty strict about this, so I'm looking for any hacks or workarounds to get access on my desktop. Is there a solution that could help?

Do you happen to know the name of the software? That could help in finding specific workarounds or solutions.

The software's called a content library but isn’t publicly recognized. We get the download link through email after buying the lectures.

You might want to try manipulating the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) of your display. One way to do this is to modify a spare VGA cable so it doesn't send EDID information. Just keep in mind that this could limit your display resolution. You might want to search for guides on VGA, HDMI, or DisplayPort EDID pin manipulation for more details. If the software detects whether it’s a laptop display using different methods, though, you could end up back where you started. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! The software is not widely recognized, and the download link is provided via email after purchase. I'll give your method a shot!
