I'm trying to decide between the 5070 TI and the 9070 XT. The 5070 TI prices are around $750-800, while I can find the 9070 XT starting at about $699. Is spending that extra $50 on the 5070 TI a smart move?

I’d say go for the 5070 TI if your budget allows it! You’ll get better DLSS support, frame generation options, and superior ray tracing capabilities.
That sounds great, but isn’t the 50 series having some driver issues?
