Why does my iPod Nano 7th Gen turn off when I unplug it?

Hey everyone! I recently lost my iPod Nano 7th Gen and bought a new one. It works fine when connected to my computer, but as soon as I unplug it, it turns off immediately. I've tested it with multiple cables and both my old Macbook and another computer, but the issue persists. This also happened with a second iPod I ordered. My computers are quite old, with the Macbook being around 3 years old, while the iPods are brand new. I've tried different versions of iTunes as well. My old iPod worked perfectly for ten years until two weeks ago. I'm stuck here—any ideas on what's causing this? Thanks!

It sounds like the batteries might be failing, especially since the devices are old and batteries do wear out over time. You could consider replacing the battery yourself if you're up for it; there are plenty of YouTube videos that show how to do it.

Okay, I'll check on that. Do you know if the newest iPod Touch has similar issues if I decide to get one? Thanks!
