Which graphics card should I choose: RX 6750 XT or RTX 3070?

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card after my old 1660 Super broke, and I've been using a backup GPU in the meantime. I'm considering the GeForce RTX 3070 and the RX 6750 XT since both appear to be solid choices. My goal is to play most games at 120+ FPS on high or ultra settings, specifically at 1080p. I'm also upgrading my PSU and am hoping to keep the total cost under $500. What do you guys recommend? Any other GPUs I should consider?

I know this might stir some debate, but on many games, the RTX 3070 often outperforms the RX 6750 XT. However, the extra 12GB of VRAM in the RX 6750 XT makes it a better choice for future-proofing your system.

I'd recommend going for the RX 6750 XT. It has 12GB of VRAM compared to the 8GB of the RTX 3070, which can really help with future-proofing your setup. Just make sure to check availability and pricing!

I figured VRAM would be key in this choice, thanks!

For 1080p, the best options include the 5070 for about $550, the 5060 Ti 16GB for $480, or the 9060 XT 16GB for $350. The 9060 XT is great value while the 5060 Ti offers better performance and DLSS. The cards you mentioned may not meet your needs in VRAM or speed going forward.

You might want to check out one of the newer 9060 XT models—they could be a more future-proof option in the long run.

If you want 120+ FPS on high or ultra settings, I assume you mean 1080p, right? Both cards are solid choices. I suggest going with whichever one is cheaper and easier to find in stock. The used market can be tricky with scalpers, but your budget should allow for a decent option. Just watch out for the supply issues from both AMD and NVIDIA, they seem to be testing how much we'll pay!

Yes, I meant 1080p! Thanks for clarifying!
