Hey there! I'm on a nostalgic hunt for an old Knoppix version that my cousin gave me about 15 to 20 years ago when I was just around 10 years old. He burned it onto a CD, and I remember it being packed with tons of games - like there were these long drop-down menus filled with titles. I clearly recall playing 'Beneath a Steel Sky' and 'Nethack', and there was also this quirky 3D tank game where you battled bugs. Oh, and 'Tux Racing' was definitely on there!
Another game that stood out was 'Falcon's Eye', which is like an isometric GUI for Nethack, and it totally blew my mind as a kid. The desktop background is fuzzy in my memory, but I think it had these brass steam pipes—or maybe they turned out to be shock absorbers? I read somewhere that might point to Knoppix 5, but the package list didn't seem to match all the games I remember.
So, is there any chance anyone knows where I could find a master package list of older open-source games? I'd really love to revisit these classics now that I can actually appreciate them. Any help or info would be super appreciated! Thanks a lot!

You might want to try checking out archive.org to see if they have any archived versions of that Knoppix release you're looking for. They have a huge collection of software and maybe someone uploaded the version from back then.
Actually, I'm searching over there right now! So far, I've just found a forum post from 2009 where someone else was asking about the same version, but no luck on the game specifics yet. I hope I didn't accidentally throw away the CD I still have somewhere.
