I'm looking for alternatives to Xcat, the cluster management software. What similar options are out there that might work well?

If you're thinking about cluster management options, there are a few you might consider. There's Confluent, which is a Lenovo-sponsored successor to Xcat, but be warned that the documentation isn't great and the community support is lacking. Another viable option is Warewulf, which is pretty straightforward for provisioning nodes and has a larger community backing it. Also, keep an eye out for OpenCHAMI, though it could be a bit complicated to set up compared to the others.
I've heard bad things about Confluent too. Warewulf really is the best fit currently, especially with its community support.
