I'm new to the gaming PC scene, having only used gaming laptops before. I'm now interested in getting my first gaming desktop, and I'd like it to be either built or pre-built with very stable components. I understand that the latest technology isn't always the best for stability, so I'm more focused on reliability and being able to hit 120fps in shooter games. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Also, my budget is between $1600 and $1800.

Thanks for mentioning your budget! With $1600 to $1800, you have a good range to work with. Look for something with a strong processor, like a Ryzen 5 or Intel i5, coupled with a good graphics card, like an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT. This should easily support hitting 120fps in many titles, particularly when you're aiming for balanced settings instead of ultra graphics. Just make sure to also consider cooling solutions for stability!
To ensure you have a stable gaming PC, I would recommend looking into a DDR5 platform if you’re building new. However, if budget constraints come into play, then a solid DDR4 setup can still deliver excellent performance, depending on the components you choose. Spending some time researching individual parts that are known for longevity can really pay off!
Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into those CPUs and GPUs.
