I've been dealing with a major issue where my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming model, has completely frozen with multiple windows open for over an hour. It happened right after I opened Steam, and now I'm stuck on the "updating Steam" screen. I even have a drawing tablet connected, and although I can still see my drawing program open, nothing is responding. I've tried everything to fix this: holding down the power button for more than a minute, using ctrl+alt+del, closing and reopening the laptop, and even unplugging and replugging everything. Nothing is working, and this is urgent because I've got important work that I can't afford to lose! The only thing that still functions is the keyboard backlight switch.

Have you tried unplugging the battery? That might do the trick if your laptop is really frozen.
If it doesn't turn off soon, it might just run out of battery. You can then recharge it and see what happens. But I hope it doesn't come to that!
Thanks, but please don’t be overly pessimistic about my laptop situation... I'm genuinely stressed out!
I haven't tried that yet. I guess I should give it a go!
