Looking for a BYO API Key Chat Interface – Any Recommendations?

I'm currently using Claude for Claude Code, and I've already committed to a yearly subscription that I got on discount back in February. However, I'm also interested in utilizing Gemini and ChatGPT for additional opinions or when I hit rate limits. What I'm specifically looking for is a chat web app where I can plug in my own API keys from various providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google without having to pay for a monthly subscription. Ideally, it would allow users to set their own token limits, select models, and even chat with multiple LLMs at once. I'm surprised this doesn't seem to exist yet but if it doesn't, I might try building my own, even though I'm not a full-time developer.

You might want to check out OpenWebUI. It does what you're looking for, but be prepared—it’s not super easy to set up. Still, once you get it going, it can handle multiple providers and lets you use your own API keys!

Give 'openrouter' a shot! I’m not as familiar with it, but I’ve heard good things about its flexibility with API keys.

Have you tried Politeai.app? It seems like a good candidate for what you want. You can use it with your own API tokens, and it looks pretty straightforward to navigate.

If you're searching, check out "AI clients"—there’s a ton out there that might meet your requirements. Definitely worth a look!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll search for that, and hopefully, I can find something that’ll work for me.

There's also Typingmind, which could fit your needs. It’s got a user-friendly interface and lets you plug in your own keys without any hassle.
