Hey everyone! I'm facing some really frustrating internet issues on my Debian 12 laptop that has a Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter. My other devices are connecting just fine, but this one is acting up. Here's a rundown of the problems:
- GitHub repositories load but then throw an error and become inaccessible; also, searches don't work.
- YouTube tells me I'm offline when I try to search, and it only works after I reload the page.
- Reddit searches only succeed after a reload, and when I try to post, I'm greeted with a random Keanu Reeves meme instead of the regular posting screen.
A few more details:
- The issues happen on any network—guest Wi-Fi, hotspot, regular Wi-Fi, and even via Ethernet.
- I've manually set my DNS to Google (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).
- IPv6 is enabled in some settings but turned off in others, like the kernel.
- Sometimes, my time zone shifts by an hour when I change networks, though this hasn't happened in the last half hour!
- Ping tests show about 7% packet loss on this device only.
- I'm running kernel version 6.1.0-37-amd64.
- I've tried Firefox ESR and Chrome (but Chrome won't load—guess I'm using too much RAM).
This started suddenly about 2 hours ago. Has anyone experienced something similar or know what the cause might be? Any suggestions would be super helpful!

Have you tried upgrading to kernel 6.15? Sometimes newer kernels fix compatibility issues like yours. Just a thought!
Sorry, 6.15 of what?
