Upgrading My PC for Video Editing: Need Help with GPU and CPU Choices

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC because it's been struggling with H.264 and H.265 editing in DaVinci Resolve. I'm based in the UK and have a budget of £800 to £1000. Here's what my current setup looks like: an i7-7700K CPU, Gigabyte Z270P-D3 motherboard, GeForce GTX 1050, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I plan to keep the HDD, SSD, and case unless there's a strong advantage to moving to an M.2 SSD. Any advice on which GPU and CPU I should consider for optimal performance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

With your budget and needs, I’d recommend going for an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X or a Ryzen 9 7900 if you can catch it on sale. Pair that with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti or 4070 for solid GPU acceleration. Make sure to get at least 32GB of fast DDR5 RAM, and consider adding a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD to improve speed during editing. This setup would optimize your performance significantly, particularly for H.264 and H.265 encoding.

That sounds like a solid plan! Just keep in mind that NVIDIA GPUs are more efficient for editing in DaVinci Resolve due to their CUDA cores and NVENC support.
