Should I Keep My 5070 Ti or Return It?

I recently bought a Gigabyte Windforce 5070 Ti from Newegg for $824 and I'm feeling unsure about it. I got really excited at first, but now I've come across some reviews that mention issues like leaky thermal paste and general complaints about this model. The return window is closing soon, and I won't have time to test the GPU before then. I'm not keen on spending that much money on a potentially subpar GPU. Although it comes with a 3-year warranty, I've heard that getting a refund isn't guaranteed and they might just fix it instead of giving my money back. Should I return it now or give it a chance?

Honestly, I wouldn’t stress too much about this card. I've got the same model and while the thermal paste issue is mentioned, it hasn’t led to any major problems for me. Unless you plan to mount it vertically, you should be fine.

I think the whole thermal paste leak worry is overblown. If you keep it mounted horizontally, you shouldn’t have any issues. I've got the 5080 Windforce and it's been solid under load.

How can you tell if you’ve got a newer batch of the card?

I have this card, and while I've encountered some issues, it's not overheating even during heavy use. If you do decide to return it, what alternative are you considering?

If you got it at a good price, just go ahead and use it! Plus, you have that 3-year warranty as a safety net. Just remember that some people are really picky about these things.
