Tips for Properly Installing a CPU Block

I'm having trouble securing my CPU block onto the CPU. Whenever I tighten one side, the opposite side pops up, and I'm following the installation guide step by step. Any suggestions on how to get it to stay in place? Just for reference, I eventually figured it out, but I'm curious about the best techniques.

Are you sure you're using the right mounting bracket for your CPU socket? Sometimes if it's upside down or mismatched, that can cause issues. Make sure all screws are biting into the bracket, then tighten them a bit more evenly.

Check the bracket on the back of the motherboard. If it's not flat, push it up until it's even. Use a crisscross pattern when tightening—start one side at 50% and then do the opposite side before fully securing them.

It sounds like you might not be screwing it down enough on one side. Make sure to hold the CPU block firmly and alternate screwing in both sides a little at a time. It can be a bit frustrating, but patience is key!

Totally agree! It can be a real hassle, but just take your time and keep alternating, and you should get it to stick.

If it's still popping out, could be the screws aren't aligned properly with the mounting bracket. Tighten them a little until they resist movement, then go around again for an even fit.
