I'm assembling a high-end system around a Ryzen 9 9950X, Gigabyte RTX 5080 Windforce SFF OC 16GB, 64GB of G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000 CL38, and a 2TB Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The system will be used for data science, local RAG development, LLM fine-tuning, statistical workloads, and 4K gaming. I still need to choose the motherboard, CPU cooler, power supply, and case. The motherboard should have strong VRMs and support a future PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive through a dedicated M.2 slot without reducing or bifurcating the GPU's primary PCIe lanes. I'm considering suitable AM5 options such as B650E, X670E, X870, or X870E. For cooling, I'd like to know whether a premium dual-tower air cooler or a 360mm AIO is better for sustained multithreaded loads. I'm also looking for a dependable 850W–1000W ATX 3.0 or 3.1 PSU with native 12V-2x6 or 12VHPWR support, plus an airflow-focused case that can fit the graphics card, a 360mm radiator or large air cooler, and any fans needed for good temperatures. I'm located in the US and have convenient access to Micro Center.

Since you are gaming at 4K, the GPU will usually be the main performance limit, so the 9950X is most valuable for your data science and compute workloads. If the system were primarily for gaming, a gaming-focused processor could be better value, but replacing the 9950X would not make much sense if you already bought it for productivity use.
For the case, the Lancool 217, Lancool III, Fractal Torrent, and Antec Flux are good airflow-oriented options. Check the exact radiator position and GPU-clearance specifications before ordering, since a front-mounted 360mm radiator can reduce available graphics-card space. Extra fans are useful, but the goal is simply balanced airflow: front or bottom intake with rear or top exhaust.
The memory capacity and speed make sense for this build, but verify that the exact kit appears on the motherboard’s memory support list and enable its EXPO profile. Also check the board layout rather than choosing only by chipset name; a less expensive board may still provide the required PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot without affecting the main GPU slot.
A reasonable parts direction would be an Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360, a solid X870 board such as the MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi, a quality 1000W ATX 3.x PSU, and an airflow-focused case. Add several high-quality PWM fans if the case does not already have a complete intake and exhaust setup. The Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 is a strong choice for the 9950X, especially if you expect long all-core workloads. A high-end dual-tower cooler can also work, but the 360mm radiator should generally provide more thermal headroom and lower sustained temperatures. For the PSU, look at reputable 1000W ATX 3.1 models from Corsair, Seasonic, ASUS, or Montech, making sure the unit includes a native 12V-2x6 cable rather than relying on an adapter.
