I'm running a Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon 7900 XTX with three 4K displays: a center OLED at 240 Hz and two side monitors at 120 Hz. I've been getting occasional driver timeouts, black screens, Chrome freezes, and other crashes. I tried connecting one side monitor to the 9800X3D's integrated graphics while leaving two on the 7900 XTX, but that seemed to create additional problems. I also tried connecting all three displays to the dGPU, setting every monitor to 120 Hz, disabling MPO, reinstalling Adrenalin several times, and using AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode. Hybrid graphics was previously enabled, with 4 GB of system memory allocated to the iGPU, but I've now disabled the iGPU in BIOS. All three displays use 10-bit RGB 4:4:4 Full range, although the center monitor needs those settings for HDR and OLED gaming. The GPU also idles around 1499 MHz. Is the 7900 XTX fully capable of driving three 4K monitors, and should I keep every display connected to it? Could mixed refresh rates, FreeSync or Adaptive Sync, different color-depth requirements, or browser hardware acceleration be contributing to the black screens and crashes?

Try simplifying the setup first: disable the iGPU and hybrid graphics in BIOS, then perform one genuinely clean driver installation with DDU from Safe Mode rather than repeatedly reinstalling over the existing driver. In Adrenalin, check that every monitor is using RGB 4:4:4 with Full range and consistent color-depth settings. Mixed 8-bit and 10-bit or HDR handshakes can sometimes contribute to black screens, especially when displays have different capabilities.
Disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome made video playback stutter badly, and Discord also looked wrong, so that workaround isn’t practical for me.
A 240 Hz center display and 120 Hz side displays should generally work together; you don’t need to force all three to 120 Hz just because they have different refresh rates. However, mixed refresh, HDR, variable refresh, and multiple monitor timing combinations can expose driver or firmware bugs. As a test, temporarily disable FreeSync or Adaptive Sync on the side monitors, turn off HDR on them, and run a simpler refresh-rate combination. If the black screens stop, re-enable those features one at a time to identify the trigger. The high idle clock can also occur with high-refresh multi-monitor setups and isn’t automatically a fault.
The 7900 XTX should have no trouble driving three 4K displays. Desktop rendering for a side monitor is a tiny workload compared with gaming or GPU compute, so moving displays to the iGPU is unlikely to provide a noticeable performance benefit. It can instead introduce another graphics driver and create harder-to-diagnose handoff or artifact problems. I’d keep all three monitors connected to the dGPU while troubleshooting.
Even with all three running at 4K, the extra desktop workload should still be negligible?

My center OLED needs 10-bit for HDR, so I set the side displays to 10-bit as well. I’ve also disabled the iGPU and completed a Safe Mode cleanup, but the GPU still idles around 1499 MHz.
