Certain letters disappear from search and title fields, but not the main post editor

I'm using Windows 11, and for the past few weeks certain letters—especially l, m, p, and apparently k—sometimes fail to appear when I type in search or title fields. The same keyboard works normally in the main post editor and other applications, and restarting the computer hasn't fixed it. Has anyone experienced a browser-specific issue like this, and what troubleshooting steps should I try?

I tested the keyboard on another device and in other areas, and it works correctly. The missing letters only happen in the search and title fields, so it appears to be a browser or website-specific problem rather than faulty hardware.

That points away from replacing the keyboard. Clearing the browser’s site data or trying another browser should help confirm where the issue is.

This sounds like it could be caused by a browser update or corrupted site data. Since restarting didn’t help, try clearing the browser cache and the site’s stored data, then restart the browser. That resolved a similar issue for me.

First test the keyboard in a basic text editor such as Notepad, including the Shift keys. If those characters fail there too, the keyboard may need replacing. If it works normally in Notepad, the problem is probably limited to the browser or website.
