For the past few weeks, I've been trying to install work software such as AutoCAD and Acrobat, but the downloaded programs won't open. My AutoCAD subscription expired, and I also tried removing the existing AutoCAD applications with Revo Uninstaller after an unsuccessful attempt to use an unofficial version. Since then, newly downloaded software appears to download successfully but does not launch. I'm not seeing a specific error message. What should I check to fix this?

Revo may have removed shared components or changed permissions, so run Windows Update and restart the laptop. Then open Command Prompt as administrator and run `sfc /scannow`, followed by `DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth`. Check that your antivirus or Windows Security has not quarantined the installers, and make sure your user account has administrator access. Avoid cracked software because it can be unsafe and may leave behind services or damaged files.
First, check whether Windows is blocking the installer. Right-click the downloaded file, choose Properties, and look for an Unblock option. Also try downloading a fresh installer directly from the official AutoCAD or Adobe website, rather than using an old copy. If the installer still will not launch, note whether nothing happens or whether an error appears, since those point to different causes.

The files download normally, but clicking them does nothing. I’ll try the system checks and official installers first.
