I was trying to free up some space on my laptop and accidentally deleted the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. I've tried reinstalling it from various random websites and even attempted to repair it through my laptop's settings, but nothing seems to work. I'm honestly kind of scared that this might be a permanent issue. What are my options here?

Honestly, if you're having a lot of trouble and nothing seems to be fixing it, a clean install of Windows might be the best way to go. Just be careful in the future and try not to mess with things you’re not familiar with!
If you really need it, you can just wait until a program prompts you to install the required version again. Most programs will request the specific runtime they need when you try to run them. Just make sure to check the official site when you do install it.
It sounds like you might be in a bit of a jam! It’s easy to accidentally delete things that are actually important. I'd recommend visiting the official Microsoft website for the runtime and downloading the most recent version from there instead of random sites. They usually have the safest downloads. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely try downloading it directly from Microsoft.
I hear you! Lesson learned for sure.
