Mobile reception in my basement is very weak, and I'm looking for a way to improve cellular signal without relying on Wi‑Fi calling or a Wi‑Fi connection. Are there any devices available in India that can provide better mobile coverage indoors?

There isn’t a simple magic fix. A cellular signal booster or repeater may help, but it can be expensive and needs a usable signal somewhere outside or above the basement.

Passive repeaters are the cheaper option, but they generally work only when the phone is close to the indoor antenna or stays in one location. Active boosters are more effective, using an outdoor antenna, an indoor antenna, and coaxial cable between them. Make sure any booster is approved for use by your carrier and in India, since unauthorized equipment can interfere with mobile networks.

The outdoor antenna has to be placed where the existing signal is reasonably strong. A booster cannot create coverage if there is almost no signal to capture.

If you decide to avoid Wi‑Fi completely, the practical choices are a carrier-approved signal repeater or improving the antenna location above ground and running cable down to the basement. Before buying anything, check whether your carrier offers an officially supported indoor coverage solution, because cheap generic boosters can perform badly or be illegal.
