I have a vintage mid-century modern desk from the 1960s that I really want to preserve. The desktop and drawer section are separated by roughly six inches, so there isn't enough clearance for a normal clamp-on monitor or microphone arm. I'd prefer not to drill into the desk unless there's a reversible or fully restorable solution. What are some good alternatives?

A separate monitor stand may be the simplest option. You can buy replacement VESA stands or universal monitor bases if the original stand is missing, and that avoids putting any hardware on the desk. For the microphone, a weighted desktop stand could work too.
Instead of attaching the arms to the desk, put a small nightstand, side table, or sturdy pedestal next to it and clamp the monitor and microphone arms to that. It keeps the vintage desk untouched while still giving you an adjustable setup.
Before choosing a solution, measure the space around the desk and check how the monitor attaches. A freestanding monitor riser or arm base might fit behind or beside the desk, but the exact dimensions will determine whether there’s enough room. Photos would also help identify a reversible mounting option.

The monitor came from a friend without its stand. Are universal replacement stands or VESA bases generally easy to find? I’m also renting, so wall mounting probably isn’t an option.
